Sen. John Thune Blames Shooting Victims For Not ‘Taking Precautions’ And Not ‘Getting Small’ To Avoid Being Shot
After the massacre in Las Vegas on Sunday night, Americans are looking for answers as to why Stephen Paddock committed this terrorist act.
But, while many are calling for gun control laws, Republican Senator of South Dakota John Thune thinks he knows exactly who is at fault here—the people who were being shot.
The real problem is that victims don’t have Ant-Man’s shrinking abilities and are too easy to target.
“I think people are going to have to take steps in their own lives to take precautions,” he suggested. “To protect themselves. And in situations like that, you know, try to stay safe. As somebody said — get small.”
Instead of addressing the issue of gun control, he essentially says that these things are just going to happen and all we can do is hope for the best, and try to shrink our size on demand.
