The AARP Makes Stunning Announcement Against Trump Due To Trumpcare

By  |

While many groups are beginning to organize to fight Trumpcare, there is one group that is ready to fight and fight hard: the elderly.

“The AARP is deeply disappointed in today’s vote by the House to pass this deeply flawed health bill,” AARP’s Executive Vice President Nancy LeaMond stated after AHCA made it through Congress.

While the law is harmful to almost every American not making more than $200,000 a year, it is particularly detrimental to women and the elderly.

Congress voted to tax the elderly as they age, an “Age Tax” that would “[harm] millions of American families with health insurance, forcing many to lose coverage or pay thousands of dollars more for health care.”

Also, the dismantling of protecting people with preexisting conditions will hit the elderly community viciously. 25 million older Americans have preexisting conditions, such as cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and arthritis, to name a few. Those Americans will “likely find health care unaffordable or unavailable to them.”

LeoMond held no quarter in her battle cry, and is starting the process of organizing the older community against the Republicans:

“We promised to hold members of Congress accountable for their vote on this bill. True to our promise, AARP is now letting its 38 million members know how their elected representative voted on this health bill in The Bulletin, a print publication that goes out to all our members, as well as through emails, social media, and other communications.”

One of Trump and the Republicans’ key demographics are about to see the effects of their vote—and next time they do vote, the Republicans might be wishing they kept Obamacare after all.
