UNBELIEVABLE. Kellyanne Conway DEFENDS Trump for Mocking the Disabled
Kellyanne Conway appeared on CNN this morning, and the discussion was Meryl Streep’s speech at the Golden Globes last night, and in particular, the issue of Trump mocking a disabled reporter.
Conway asked CNN host Chris Cuomo why he refuses to give Donald Trump “the benefit of the doubt” when Trump says he did not mock a disabled reporter during the presidential campaign.
“Why can’t you give him the benefit of the doubt, the way the benefit of the doubt was given to CNN’s polling, all of its analysts, everybody in the word saying…That is not what he did and he has said that a thousand times, as he tweeted out today, he has said a hundred times.”
She added, and this is priceless, “You always want to go by what’s come out of his mouth rather than look at what’s in his heart.”
Without referring to Trump by name, Streep said his performance had “stunned” her.
“Not because it was good; there was nothing good about it. But it was effective and it did his job,” said Streep, who went on to rip the president-elect for imitating New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski.
Trump responded to Streep’s speech Monday morning, calling the actress “over-rated” and “a Hillary flunky.”
“For the 100th time, I never ‘mocked’ a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him…….’groveling’ when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad. Just more very dishonest media!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
