The Nepotism of the Trump Presidency: His Sons in Power!

President-elect Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has been named senior advisor to the president, senior transition officials reportedly told NBC News on Monday.

Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, purchased a $5.5-million home in Washington, D.C., last week, amid rumors that he would join his father-in-law’s administration.

Kushner played a large role in advising Trump’s presidential campaign and recently stepped back from his family’s multi-million-dollar real-estate business amid speculation that he would take on a formal role.

Such an appointment could run afoul of federal anti-nepotism laws, and Kushner has reportedly been working with counsel on eliminating potential conflicts of interest.

In order to skirt such nepotism laws, Kushner would have to go without pay in his White House role.

The Trump transition team confirmed to Real Clear Politics that Kushner would not be paid for his work in the White House.
