Trump’s Attack on Meryl Streep is ONE BIG FLOP

President-elect Trump likely pictured his Twitter tirade against Meryl Streep to be met with applause. Instead, Trump got mocked all over again.

One of the top nationally trending hashtags is #ThingsTrumpThinksAreOverrated, which was created in response to a series of tweets the President-elect shot off early Monday morning, in which he called actress Meryl Streep “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood.” Streep made headlines Sunday night for a Golden Globes acceptance speech in which she referred to Trump as a “bully,” referencing his mocking of a New York Times reporter with a disability.

One Twitter user mocked the President-elect’s limited vocabulary, predicting that Trump would not only respond to Streep’s critique, but the word he would use to describe the award-winning actress:

CNN commentator Keith Boykin laboriously went through Trump’s Twitter timeline, putting in a search query for every time Trump used the word “overrated” in a tweet. The results were astounding, and proved that “overrated” is one of the President-elect’s go-to insults:

One of the most viral tweets in that hashag was a list of things that Trump is known for not favoring, including disclosing his tax returns, and not grabbing women by their genitalia:

Twitter user Jared Montana, who was one of the first to engage with the hashtag, used the conversation to revive the recent news that the President-elect has a propensity to stiff contractors who work on his properties. Another Twitter user pointed out that Meryl Streep has more Academy Award nominations than Trump has failed businesses and bankruptcies:

Streep’s speech definitely struck a nerve with some of Trump’s most ardent supporters, who took to Twitter to blast the actress as a member of the out-of-touch Hollywood elite. Twitter user Lisa Donne had the best response:

What do you think?
